ART OF NATURE
The mildness of its climate, the richness of rivers, the
fertility of the soil have always allured people to establish in this area
since prehistory. Today the most part of the tiny villages as Calcata,
Vitorchiano, Grotte di Castro, Bomarzo, Blera, Civita di Bagnoregio, have
not moved from their original position which was often on the top of hills
to warrant them from the frequent barbarian invasions, once the west roman
empire decayed. What wonders most is a continuity in the long run of
different centuries, between human settlements as for instance the bridge
of Abbadia in Vulci and Civitacastellana risen on the ruins of Falerii
Veteres and favourable natural marks which has also contributed to prevent
Tuscia from being spoilt by unplanned and irrational developments.
