The town is set on a tufaceous knoll in a lovely position
in the Tiber valley in the eastern part of the Tuscia area of Viterbo.
The parish church of SS. Filippo e Giacomo,
restructured at the end of the sixteenth century, contains a fifteenth century
artistic crucifix. The historic centre is nestled against the Rocca dei
Monaldeschi fortress dating to the fourteenth century. Not far from the
town is the lovely sixteenth century church of Madonna della Neve. In
the surrounding countryside, long rows of vines offer their precious fruit to
local wineries as well as the ones in Orvieto.
