One of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance gardens
in Italy, with two small palaces and a series of artistic fountains;
including the Flood (located on the upper areas), the Dolphins, the Giants,
the Lanterns, and the Quadrangle. The palaces contain frescoes from the
sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Vast park area.

This museum contains a wealth of materials (displays,
models, audiovisual materials) concerning the relationship of human beings
with horses from prehistoric times to the modern and contemporary era,
including folk customs connected to the Maremma. A teaching laboratory is
connected to the museum, where visitors may learn about activities relating
to horses.

Located in the Monaldeschi castle, this museum houses a
display on the formation and activity of volcanoes in the area, as well as
an early historical and medieval display.

the park includes grotesque Sculpttures in stone representing an ogre, a

CAPRAROLA - PALAZZO FARNESE

Built on a plan designed by Vignola near the end of the
sixteenth century, this is one of the greatest architectural achievements of
the late Renaissance. It contains a superb fresco cycle of the mannerist
school. The chapel, the Hall of Glory, the Hall of the Council of Trent with
frescoes by Taddeo and Federico Zuccari are of all of great artistic
interest, as is the spiral staircase designed by Vignola.

Located beneath the Church of St Mary ad Rupes, this
houses sacred vestments and religious objects including: chasubles, robes,
tunics, mitres, two pairs of pontifical sandals, and a chest, all dating

situated in an archaeological area with rock tombs and a small church

Located in the Vitelleschi Palace, this is one of
the most important Etruscan museums in Italy. It houses Greek and
Etruscan pottery, burial artefact, sarcophaguses, and sculpture, including
the sculpture of the Winged Horses.
